After months of leaks, rumors, renders, and plenty of speculation, Samsung has finally made the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra official. During its Galaxy Unpacked event in London, the company unveiled its newest premium foldable, bringing the Ultra branding to the Galaxy Z Fold lineup for the first time. The new device focuses on productivity, content creation, and AI-powered experiences while packing notable hardware upgrades over its predecessor.
Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra at its latest Unpacked event in London
As expected, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the most premium foldable in Samsung’s lineup. It features a large 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display alongside a 6.5-inch cover display, all housed inside Samsung’s slimmest Z Fold design yet. The device measures just 4.1mm when unfolded and weighs 215 grams, making it surprisingly thin considering everything packed inside.
Samsung is also bringing some serious camera upgrades this time around. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra comes equipped with a 200MP primary camera, joined by a new 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The company has also improved Nightography and added support for 8K video recording using the new APV codec, giving creators more flexibility when editing videos.
Powering everything is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of storage. Samsung has also included a larger 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, Wi-Fi 7, and One UI 9 based on Android 17. The foldable also introduces Galaxy AI features optimized for larger displays, allowing users to multitask more efficiently and work across multiple apps with fewer steps.
Pre-order starts today
Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is available for pre-order starting today in select markets, with Graphite, Cream, and Violet Shadow color options, alongside an online-exclusive Green Shadow finish. The company is also bundling a six-month Google AI Pro trial with eligible purchases.
