If you’ve been waiting for the launch of the iPhone 17 series, the date is finally here. Apple has officially confirmed its next product event for Tuesday, September 9, where the company will introduce the new iPhone 17 lineup alongside fresh Apple Watch hardware. The event tagline reads “Awe Dropping” and features an infrared-styled Apple logo.

Four iPhones, including a new ultra-thin model

Apple is expected to unveil four iPhones this year: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 17 will mostly build on last year’s design, while the new iPhone 17 Air takes center stage with a thinner profile and a slightly smaller screen than the outgoing iPhone 16 Plus.

The Pro models have been reported to bring a redesigned camera system that stretches across the back, thicker bodies (especially for the Pro Max, to support bigger batteries), and new pricing that could push the Pro higher while reducing storage options. After the launch, expect Apple to phase out the iPhone 15, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

New Apple Watch and accessories

On the wearables front, Apple will debut the Apple Watch Series 11 and the rugged Apple Watch Ultra 3. AirPods Pro 3 may also make an appearance, while new accessories, including a TechWoven case material (to replace FineWoven) and even a rumored iPhone crossbody strap, might launch.

Other rumors point to a possible comeback of the MagSafe Battery Pack and an iPhone 4-style Bumper case, particularly for the iPhone 17 Air. Updated watch bands in new materials and colors are also on the cards.

How to watch Apple’s Awe Dropping event

The event will be pre-recorded and streamed on apple.com, YouTube, and the Apple TV app starting at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
